Bookmaking With Kids
Books are such fun art projects for kids. Making them is a project in itself, and so filling them upwards is a whole different gamble. My Sketchbook Embrace Ideas post was one of my most popular so far, and so it's apparent many of you like volume projects for kids, as well!
This i is celebrating Spring with some bright colors and playful dots. I love dots. A lot.
Materials:
- Watercolor newspaper
- Acrylic paints
- Office stickers
- Printer newspaper or cartoon paper
- Pigsty dial (single)
- Embroidery thread
- Beads
Here'south what you do:
Grab a piece of watercolor paper and stick role dot stickers all over it.
Using acrylic paints, (yous can use watercolors instead; the acrylics are merely nice and brilliant) pigment one-half of the paper one color and half another. We used green and yellow because they are Springariffic.
Peel the dots off and trace a bowl or something round on the back of the paper on each color.
Cut out the circles, and these are your covers for your book.
Use the same bowl to cut out a small stack of printer paper. Belongings the stack in between the two covers, apply a hole dial to press into the edge of the stack. Unless y'all are super potent, you lot probably won't punch through, but the indentations left in the paper volition bear witness yous where to dial through a few pieces at a time.
Necktie your embroidery thread through the pigsty, looping information technology through twice. Double knot.
Necktie your chaplet on and snip off the leftover thread.
Nosotros used a metal ruler to hold on top of each comprehend to bend it back. This creases it somewhat and makes the volume easier to open.
Boom! Sketch or write to your centre's content
